A graduate has explained how taking a TEFL course changed his life and allowed him to travel and get paid for a job that he enjoys.
Daniel Deacon wrote in an i-to-i Chalkboard blog that he was working in a "dull but well-paid job" when he graduated from university and taking a TEFL course gave him the springboard to join his sister out in Seoul, where he taught kindergarten and elementary kids.
He said: "It was very daunting at first, but I remembered what I had learned in my TEFL course and after a few weeks it became so much fun that I hardly felt like I was working at all."
Not only was Mr Deacon able to get paid for doing something that he enjoyed, but he had the opportunity to visit a whole host of exotic destinations during his holidays, such as China, Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Teach abroad specialists i-to-i recommend taking a TEFL course before heading out to a foreign country as it usually means that people will be offered more money for their services.
