Teaching English in China students ‘should visit Hong Kong’

Posted 26 Feb 2010

People who use their TEFL qualifications to teach English in China should consider travelling to Hong Kong while they are in the area, since it has a lot to offer, one source has suggested.

The region is authentically Chinese and people should definitely try and visit the area if they have the time, according to John Warner, managing director of Gap Adventures.

Figures released by Pacific Asia Travel Association show that Hong Kong enjoyed a year-on-year increase of eight per cent in the number of visitors it received during November 2009, compared to two per cent growth recorded in Japan.

One of the highlights for people going travelling and teaching English abroad is often the exotic cities they are able to see and Mr Warner claimed that Hong Kong is one destination that should be on their list of places to go.

He explained: "It is a spectacular destination. Hong Kong offers so much to see and do but I think many people miss it out and don’t think of it as the real China."ADNFCR-2167-ID-19641096-ADNFCR
