One professor of a US university has spoken of the benefits of jetting off to study or teach overseas, in a viewpoint that may be of interest to those considering teaching English overseas.
Danny Unger, associate professor of political science at Northern Illinois State University, told its newsletter the Northern Star that venturing abroad is "a lot of fun".
Having spent time in Istanbul, Mr Unger described his experience as "wonderful, magical [and] intoxicating".
He told the news provider that travelling allows people the chance to step outside of their comfort zones and can even serve to change their ambitions for the future.
The professor’s opinions may be shared by Deborah Howard, a writer for the Global Times, who is currently teaching English in China.
She stated last week that although she meant to stay in the Asian country for one year, she has now been there for six.
