The airline is planning to start flying to South America within the next few days following the success of its new routes in Turkey, India, Japan, Spain and Denmark.
Speaking at the Business Travel Market (June 15th to 16th), Paul E Johannes, commercial vice president in Europe for Qatar Airways, explained that the company was meeting demand.
He said: "We’re very excited about South America coming online on June 24th with both Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires, that actually gives us our 91st and 92nd destination, which is quite a feat for the 13 years of our existence and we continue to look for opportunities."
Mr Johannes added that demand for South America would be high as the market is under-served at the moment.
According to Post Office Travel Money, Brazil has the fastest growing currency with a 238 per cent year-on-year growth in 2010, underlining the increasing popularity of South America.
