Teach English in Brazil ‘and enjoy the Japanese Festival’

Posted 30 Apr 2010

Brazil has the largest Japanese population outside of Japan and those teaching English in the country can celebrate Japanese culture and more at an annual festival.

The Japanese Festival, which is held at the Centro de Exposicoes Imigrantes in Sao Paulo, will run from July 16th to 18th and will include many events and displays highlighting the people and the history of Japan.

Those teaching English in Brazil can look forward to folkloric dancing, origami exhibitions, traditional food and martial arts displays.

It is considered one of the biggest celebrations of Japanese culture anywhere in the world and is the largest event of its kind in Latin America.

The aim of the event is to preserve Japanese culture and bring it to a wider audience, meaning those in TEFL jobs in Brazil can learn more about this fascinating country.

Another event teachers can look forward to in July is the Anima Mundi Animation Festival, which will arrive in Sao Paulo on the 28th for finish on August 1st.
