Taking TEFL course ‘could increase career opportunities’

Posted 10 Mar 2010

A TEFL course could help people find work in a tough employment market, according to one student.

Kelly English is just one of many people in further education who is worried about finding a job in the UK during this difficult economic climate.

She has decided that she will take a TEFL course when she finishes her English Studies degree at the University of Nottingham, since she believes that it could help her future career prospects.

Ms English noted that it could be exciting to teach abroad in a place that could become crucial to the world economy in the future.

"Asia in particular provides so many opportunities to teach abroad and certain countries such as China and South Korea are really developing now," she explained.

Last week, an online user on Literacy News claimed that women should not be overly worried about safety when considering whether to go to Asia to teach, since none of their friends had had any problems.ADNFCR-2167-ID-19662254-ADNFCR
