TEFL-qualified people may wish to consider teaching English in Sri Lanka as the country currently does not have enough teachers to meet demand.
It was reported today (July 16th) that 866 schools in Sri Lanka lack a qualified English teacher so TEFL-qualified people could find themselves in demand.
The Presidential Taskforce recently carried out a study, which found that 3,646 schools in difficult areas have vacancies for those wanting to teach English.
However, 1,196 urban and popular schools have an excess of English teachers. The schools lacking a sufficient number of teachers are spread across the country.
