Solo holidays increasing in popularity

Posted 28 Oct 2010

More Brits are choosing to holiday on their own, possibly to teach English abroad, even if they are in a relationship or married.

According to LV= travel insurance, 13 per cent of Brits travelled on their own in the last 12 months, compared to just six per cent two years ago, reports the Telegraph.

At least 60 per cent of those who travelled solo stated that they had a great time and ten per cent said it was the best trip ever.

Therefore, the adventurous types may like to consider taking a TEFL course in order to learn how to teach English abroad, which will enable them to travel solo while earning money.

John O'Roarke, managing director of LV= Travel Insurance, told the news provider: "Holidaying abroad alone offers the opportunity to meet new people and get a whole new outlook on life."

It was revealed yesterday (October 27th) that the number of Brits searching for jobs abroad using the internet increased by 16 per cent in the third quarter of the year compared to the previous one.
