Shropshire man opens language school

Posted 30 Sep 2009

A young man who established a language school in Spain has hailed the project his dream.

Benn Parsons, who originally moved to the country four-and-a-half years ago in pursuit of his Spanish girlfriend, had to master the local language before he could begin his new TEFL career, but insists the hard work has paid off now the academy is finally open.

He told the Shropshire Star: "I love working with our students and teaching them English.

"I am glad I am speaking English more as well. I sometimes forget how to say certain words in English because I have been speaking only Spanish for so long."

He added that one of the biggest perks of the job was seeing his students improve as it reminded him of his own language progress.

Other people hoping to teach English in a Spanish-speaking country may be interested in i-to-i’s TEFL placements in Peru.

Volunteers can spend between four and 12 weeks based at an orphanage in Lima.ADNFCR-2167-ID-19386853-ADNFCR
