When planning a gap year, people planning to travel while teaching English abroad have been advised to visit Singapore in September.
If this recommendation is taken up, visitors to the south-east Asian country will be able to take part in the Mid-Autumn Festival, where visitors can sample delicacies and watch Chinese lantern displays.
Discussing what else Singapore had to offer, Eunice Yeo, area director of northern and western Europe at the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), said: “The new National Arts Gallery is also a must see – a civic and creative space, established for the enrichment, enjoyment and engagement of Singaporeans and visitors from all over the world.”
According to Ms Yeo, the gallery helps visitors understand Singapore’s cultural heritage, something which gap year travellers may be interested in.
The Mid-Autumn Festival will take place on September 22nd, and the STB claims that the event will “colour your travels”.
The STB also revealed that over the past eight months, the country has experienced record visitor numbers.
