Students in Wales are benefiting from plans to revolutionise education through online learning.
The Welsh Assembly Government’s Heads of the Valley’s regeneration programme has funded three schemes in the country aimed at improving technological resources in education institutions, reports the Western Mail.
One project has seen a primary school become the first in Wales to equip all pupils with laptop computers.
Meanwhile, Merthyr College has been allocated £100,000 to purchase 250 mini notebooks and install or extend wireless access in four secondary schools, one pupil referral unit and an adult and community learning centre.
A further £37,500 will go to the Rhondda Cynon Taf local education authority to establish a series of online learning communities.
Another organisation that has benefited from e-learning resources in recent years is TEFL specialist i-to-i, which has now supported 30,000 online students.
