Fears have been raised that one in three NHS jobs could be lost in Oxfordshire as the primary care trust tries to cut costs by £100 million.
Trade union Unison published a document yesterday (September 29th) voicing its concerns over the proposed spending cuts over the next three to four years, reports the Witney Gazette.
The union has estimated that the cuts in spending could cost 4,250 full-time workers their jobs in the future.
This means that thousands could be faced with unemployment, which may give them the ideal chance to take a career break.
Those who wish to change careers or just fancy spending some time overseas could contemplate taking a TEFL course.
A TEFL course trains people how to teach English abroad and can open doors for future employment.
However, NHS Oxfordshire has stated that the predicted job losses are incorrect.
The primary care trust issued a statement, which said: "It is important to understand that workforce cost reductions are not solely met in reductions of numbers of staff," quotes the news provider.
Thomas Cook workers could also be faced with unemployment as the travel operator has suggested jobs may be axed following a bad year for the firm.
