People in TEFL jobs may find that they share similar interests to their students if they have the chance to take charge of a class of older pupils, if the experience of one teacher is anything to go by.
Writing on her i-to-i Chalboard blog, Laserabella described how she started to become friends with some of her learners while teaching English in South Korea.
She explained that she is really starting to like a lot of them after having the chance to sit with them at lunch time and realise that they had similar interests as a result of being a similar age.
"It has given us the chance to see one another as human beings, and not as participants on two different sides of a struggle," wrote Laserabella.
One tip that could help people in TEFL jobs to become better at their profession and develop relationships with students was recently noted by emmafoers on the same site, who said that being enthusiastic is vital.
