Brits should travel to places like Latin America to find a good value holiday, it has been suggested.
A survey conducted by Journey Latin America revealed that, even when airfares were considered, a luxury holiday to Argentina was cheaper than the south of France.
The research also highlighted that wining, dining and a number of other activities were cheaper in this long-haul destination compared to prices in Europe.
South America is an increasingly affordable location for British holidaymakers, the marketing executive for Journey Latin America Laura Rendell Dunn explained.
"With the current economic downturn and the sterling to euro exchange rate at an all-time low, everyone will be looking for the best deal possible," she said.
How far money will go in South America might be good news for people who are thinking about working in a TEFL job there.
According to i-to-i, one opportunity might be to teach English to children in Posadas, Argentina to help give them "a chance to escape poverty" when they are older.
