Indian authors to give tips on how to teach English in China?

Posted 01 Sep 2010

The Chinese government is turning to books written by Indian authors in order to gain inspiration on revamping the way English is learnt in the country.

TEFL-qualified people who plan to teach English in China may find that new methods are adopted in schools to help students learn the language more effectively.

China is currently hosting its 17th Beijing International Book Fair, which started on Monday (August 30th), and tomes from 27 Indian publishers are being showcased.

A total of nearly 3,500 books by Indian authors are being displayed and they are written on a wide range of topics including science and information technology.

Several English language books and aids are also being showcased at the event as India is the third largest publisher of these books after the UK and US.

It is hoped that the book fair will help cement ties between India and China and possibly revamp the way in which Chinese children learn English.

The five-day event will host 1,000 cultural activities and sell tomes from 58 regions across the world.
