People could consider having a go at badminton during their time teaching English in Malaysia, particularly since the government there has just announced plans for an academy to be built focusing on the sport.
While much of the time travellers spend in TEFL jobs will be in the classroom, it is important to relax and have a good time too.
One sport that is in the ascendency in Malaysia currently is badminton, after 28-year-old Lee Chong Wei became the second holder of the All-England title in 44 years from the country, according to the Telegraph.
The sports star was quoted as saying: "I have many fans and their encouragement and support helped motivate me to do well in every tournament I go to. I thank them from my heart."
Anyone hoping to emulate the athlete’s success may be happy to hear that Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak is going to set up a badminton academy as a result of Chong Wei’s victory.
Previously he had only won a bronze at the World Championships.
