Those who have taken a TEFL course and now plan to teach English abroad may be spurred into action by a report from one newspaper.
The Guardian states that being accepted on to a graduate training programme appears to be something that is increasingly difficult for young Britons.
Speaking to the publication, John Morewood, senior graduate recruitment development manager at HSBC, stated: "It will be competitive. I’d recommend three things – do practice numerical reasoning tests and some skills sessions and watch our DVD."
The newspaper points out that psychometric testing, timed aptitude tests, residential assessment centre stays and phone interviews are all commonplace to gain positions on such courses.
This news comes after the UK’s Office for National Statistics revealed that the number of jobless graduates in the country hit 100,000 earlier this month.
