Hong Kong is renowned for its local food, but those teaching English in China’s special administrative region have the opportunity to taste something of the Mediterranean in May.
TV chef Antonio Carluccio will be at Mandarin Oriental’s Cafe Causette diner between May 14th and 20th to present a range of authentic Italian cuisine, as well host a special cookery class on the 15th.
Mandarin Oriental’s Antoine Melon said: "Antonio Carluccio is the voice of authentic Italian food. His visit to Cafe Causette will give gourmets the opportunity to enjoy a slice of Italy."
The Italian cook launched his Carluccio’s Caffe business in 1998 and the outlets can now be found across Britain. Fellow chef Jamie Oliver once worked for him as a pastry chef at the Neal Street restaurant in London’s Covent Garden.
Carluccio is the latest world-renowned chef to be invited to the Mandarin Oriental, which boasts two Michelin-starred restaurants. Others include Philippe Gagnaire and Jordi Roca.
