Germany could be an affordable option for people planning where to visit on a gap year.
That is according to Wibke Carter, press officer for the German National Tourism Office, who said that Berlin is a great deal cheaper than other European cities.
She said: “Once you’re in Germany, it’s surprisingly affordable.
If Germany is already incorporated into a gap year plan, Ms Carter also recommended several must-see parts of the city.
”It is quite famous for its museums and architecture and there is the reopening of the Neues Museum which the British architect David Chipperfield was quite involved in.
“Then there are the little quirky things like the Strand-Cafés which are little bars on the river and by the beach.”
Those currently on their gap year may also be interested in attending the Berlin Festival, which takes place on September 10th and 11th.
The event will see artists such as 2manydjs, LCD Soundsystem and Fatboy Slim entertaining audiences from across the globe.
