People in Argentina for a holiday or to teach English abroad may like to discover more about one of the country’s strongest industries this month.
The International Rural exhibition takes place from July 22nd until August 3rd, from 8am to 9pm.
Argentinean gauchos take over La Rural annually and parade livestock such as cows, which are then classified and auctioned off.
People teaching English in South America could watch horse-jumping or buy traditional arts and crafts from the countryside and see 19th century horse carts.
A spokesperson for Whatsonwhen, said: “The quaint Argentine Carriage Club showing off its horse and carts is a must-see.”
The club was founded by the seven Perkins sisters – 19th century sportswomen, horse rearers and cultivators of country tradition.
Livestock and agriculture has been important to the South American country since immigrants arrived there in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Argentina’s agricultural sector is export-driven and the country has lots of natural resources.
