TEFL teachers working in Ethiopia are among those set to benefit from Addis Ababa’s first English-language FM radio station.
GoodNewsEthiopia.com reports the station went live last week (September 24th) with 18 hours of music and other programmes.
The new station, called AFRO FM, will cater for the needs of expats and tourists in the African country, the news source claims.
It will also include a mix of local and international news, serving as "a gateway between Ethiopians and the international community".
As well as English, there are plans for AFRO FM to broadcast in French, Arabic and other foreign languages later.
In related news, TEFL teachers working in Beijing can now take advantage of an English language newspaper with a special focus on their city.
Xinhua news agency reports China Daily officially launched its Beijing edition earlier this month (Wednesday 16th).
It will feature a four page slip-in relaying local news stories and information on Beijing travel, entertainment, jobs and investments.
