Enjoy the Great Japan Beer Festival

Posted 16 Aug 2010

People teaching English in Japan may like to attend the Great Japan Beer Festival and try something different from sake.

The beer festival takes place from September 18th until 20th at Osanbashi Hall and more than 120 beers from 3,000 micro breweries will be available to taste.

More popular brands such as Sappora and Asashi will be showcasing their products, bringing the total to 250 beers.

A competition will be held to find the best beer in the region and those teaching English in Japan could be one of the first to taste it.

Last year, 9,000 beer lovers attended the festival and it is expected to be a success again this year.

International beers will also be available so people can relive the alcoholic beverage from home.

The beer festival was established in 1998 and a total of 210,000 people have attended since.

Japanese beer tends to be quite similar to a regular lager drink.
