The long-standing ITV soap Coronation Street is a useful resource for those who are teaching English, a footballer’s recent admission has suggested.
Carloz Tevez, an Argentinean sportsman who is currently attempting to settle in at his new team Manchester City, has turned to the northern soap to hone his language skills.
Speaking to Football Punk, he explained: "I like it. I don’t understand some things because of the language, but it seems very good."
His team mate and fellow Argentinean Pablo Zabaleta is also making similar efforts to master English it would appear.
Zabaleta told the Mirror recently that he has managed to become fluent since moving to the UK just one year ago.
He explained to the newspaper that he believes it is important for footballers based in Britain to learn how to speak English and stated his intentions to help Tevez in his quest to accomplish fluency.
