People could consider teaching English abroad in order to avoid a predicted 1.3 million increase in levels of unemployment.
During Question Time today, (June 30th), Harriet Harman, Labour MP for Camberwell and Peckham, asked prime minister David Cameron about leaked documents from the treasury.
These documents estimated that more than 600,000 jobs could be lost as a result of the emergency Budget on June 22nd, which revealed a series of spending cuts.
In the Commons, Ms Harman said that the Budget would push many people into "abject misery" but Mr Cameron assured the house that unemployment would fall every year under the coalition government.
Chancellor George Osborne also announced in the Budget that 2.5 million jobs would be created in the growing private sector.
However, Brendan Barber, general secretary for TUC, told BBC News: "Much more likely are dole queues comparable to the 1980s, a new deep north-south divide and widespread poverty as the Budget’s benefit cuts start to bite."
Furthermore, young people may wish to escape the uncertain jobs market and teach English abroad instead as language teachers are always needed.
