It can help to research schools before deciding where to apply for TEFL jobs, according to one woman who is teaching English in Japan.
Misty Brown described to the Herald Citizen how she got the names of several English schools in the country and then set to work researching what they were all about.
While she was looking for the perfect place to teach English in Japan, what she was mainly looking out for was their method of learning, since she wanted to find somewhere that matched her own philosophy on the profession.
"I did a lot of research on the different companies I found, basically reading the entire web site for each," Ms Brown told the publication.
She explained that her application process took about five months and pointed out that people should not act the desire to teach English overseas on a whim.
If people are interested in finding out more about taking a TEFL course and finding work, they can attend an i-to-i workshop that is taking place at LSE Bankside House on March 20th.
