People teaching English abroad who enjoy animation or manga may like to attend the Anima Mundi Animation festival in Sao Paulo, which takes place from July 28th until August 1st every year.
This is one of South America’s biggest animation events and it features a wide-range of activities for visitors to enjoy.
The programme includes screenings of new animations, workshops and exhibitions, while luminaries from the animation world will be in attendance to offer advice and answer questions.
People teaching English in Brazil may like to attend this free event and learn how to animate or alternatively take part in a competition.
The event has an internet animation competition and a special studio, which is opened to the public for the duration.
Rio De Janerio also hosts the Anima Mundi Animation Festival simultaneously so there is ample opportunity to enjoy it, regardless of where you are situated.
It started in 1993 as an initiative by four Brazilian animators who are still in charge of the event. Prizes are given to the animation films deemed the best by the public and a panel of judges.
