Oh ok, sounds like we are doing different internships. Its been confusing on the chalkboard because there are 2 diff Thailand internships. One is through AYC and Im really not even sure about the other!

Yeah not sure how long it takes if you mail it in. THAN GOD I live in NYC and I can just go across town to the thai consulate drop off everything then come back in 2 days and pick it up, that is what I did when I went to china, good thing because I need to get pages added to my passport first before I can get visa so I have appt to get that done monday. YIKES! I am st checkpoint 3 and it is MURDER!!!! sooooo long and I am trying to get it done and submitted by the weekend so I can finish up grammar while I wait on getting it graded.

No mention of a school?? Ok, that kinda weirds me out! I should be getting mine anyday. I am toward the end of the grammar... obviously, I tend to procrastinate! I have yet to decide on spcific dates/flights (again, procrastinating) haha but I am so excited about the trip! Thanks for the facebook group... great idea and much easier! Stay in touch!

Hiya, sorry for the delay. I just got my VISA documents in this morning but they're all written in Thai lol! As far as I can tell, there's still no mention of a school - if there is I can't read it - but I'm thinking they might be keeping that for the 1st week (initiation) so that they can match who would be best suited for each placement. Have you been able to find out anything else? How are you getting on with the coursework? Speak soon, Mark xx

HI I am from the states too (NYC) and signed up last less than a week ago for the internship I've gotten to check point one and halfway thru the grammar. So what have you heard about it? Any word on accomodations? I saw your post about the spa, if we get on I would love to invite myself for that too lol. I spent a month in thailand last oct and got a massage a day for $6 for an hour lol.

I m waiting on my acceptance and visa info then will book my flight, will prob fly out oct 16 to to arrive on the 18th and will stay an extra 2 weeks til april 15th and do another week in thailand and maybe try and hit laos or something for a few days.

Oh, and yes you have to ahve a degree

Basically, i-to-i gives you the course work and sets you up with a teaching job, housing and such. For me, it was the easiest way to go about the process since I am so clueless. Its been very helpful thus far.

whats an internship? wow your moving quite fast with it all then! do you need a degree to go to thailand? and have you found employment already? thanks

I am in your boat! I am going to Thailand in October, but haven't even started my course work.... YIKES! I am doing the 120 hour certification. I am also just doing the 5 month internship just to get a feel. Best of luck!
