And the wait begins..

I just had my interview/seminar with Interac last Saturday. I would like to think it went fairly well. Needless to say I am checking my email daily at this point and hoping that I get a postive rather than negative reply.   I am also enjoying the lovely food and company of friends in the city I went to for said Interview. I haven't been here in a couple of years so it is nice...

Interac Phone Interview Next Week

I recieved my screening email! I passed. I am so pleased. ^-^   I need to set up my phone interview for next week. I am really excited to even have made it this far--even if I don't make it any further it means a lot to me. I think I have the skills to be able to be an ALT so I will continue to think positively.   Do any of you have any...

*Headdesk* Interac essays

These things are seriously going to give me a nervous tic. I have never been so neroutic. I think it's because I didn't get a call back from the last job I applied for--which has never happened before! Granted, I was beyond over qualified which may have had something to do with it. It was writing a news blog of 200 words. I have a degree in English. Might be overshooting a tad.   Anyway!...

Under the weather..

I love spring. Sadly, the weather has been gloomy since my birthday on the 2nd. I've been doing a lot of bedrest due to a nasty case of upper respriratory infection that passed amongst my siblings and I for about a month. Ew.   I just got out of the hospital yesterday evening due to dehydration and fibromyalgia causing chest pains. Just hafter having a nice long talk with my mom about heathcare and being...

!#$#$@!!! *squee* So happy!

Okay, so if I hadn't made it too clear in my last couple of posts, I am disabled. I have a lot of health problems that are just now getting settled into a sense of something I can cope with. It's been 3 years since I graduated college (almost). The Gov here in the States has had this new idea of how to handle backpay for new disabled citizens--they spread it out. I thought I'd...

Fitting In on the Outside

I'm trying my best to do online research of TEFL. I think this seriously is just one of those things where one has to jump in, head first, and just do it! If I had the money for a ticket already saved up, and I wasn't worried about my medication siutation, I would right this moment! Japan's siren call has intensivied in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami. I may be fragile, but there...

Parents just don't understand..

That song is playing through my mind right now and I thought I would share.     One might ask why? Well, besides the fact I adore Will Smith's rap, I decided to show my Mother the 120hr Online course for i-to-i. She bit her tongue, I could tell she was having a hard time not criticising me, and suggested I go to the local private college and talk with the education department. I'm not...

You know what they say about those first steps..

Which is, you are likely to fall on your bum. However, I've found that falling down and picking myself back up is one of the best ways to learn. I believe people need to experience things first hand to really learn about certain aspects of life.   I am a small town girl. I grew up in rural WV. That should tell you all you need to know right there! We even had a roller-skate...
