Hey, everybody. Quick question - if I were to simply arrive in country with only 20 hours of TEFL training and a BA, would I be able to sustain myself with a job? I don't live extravegantly and I'm not concerned with prestige. Frankly, I'm getting frustrated with this endeavor because it seems like every position I find online requires way more experience and/or training than I possess.

Honor is definitely right. Just depends on where you want to go. It can see discerning when everything says "x amount of experience"... and I will admit if you had a bit more TEFL training than the 20 hours you could write to the schools with a good CV and cover letter and explain that though you don't have the experience in front of the classroom you have a great foundation in theory with say 100+ hours of theory work.
What ares are you wanting to go?
Hi,
It just depends where you want to go - in places like China and South Korea you should be absolutely fine to find a job with just a BA and 20 hours of TEFL training, but you might want to consider topping up your course with some online learning in order to get your hands on the better jobs and broaden out where you're able to teach.
Hope that helps - good luck!
