Hi there everyone, looking for some help and advice please. I'm leaning towards doing the China internship in August which involves taking the 140 hour Tefl course, I have to admit i'm not that academic and English was not my best subject at school. So how hard will it be to get through the course, i'm not that confident of getting through it, and if I don't finish it by the deadline of the beginning of July, does that mean I wont be able to go on the internship starting in August!?
Many thanks in anticipation!

Hey,
That's great you're thinking about diong the China internship. I wouldn't worry about the course, English was never my strongest subject at school and I've had no problems with the online course so far. There is loads of help and support available to you. You'll be assigned a tutor who will mark your assignment and give you feedback on each bit, plus there are loads of other TEFLers on Chalkboard who will be willing to help you out. Also we have a helpdesk you can call if you get stuck!
Most people complete their course within 6 weeks, so I'm sure you would be able to finish the course before July!
Hi! I took the TEFL, and English was not my best subject in school, but I was fairly confident that I could do a good job for any students I had. I am Dyslexic and Dyspraxic (means things like writing and speaking are a little difficult), but I worked really hard at my TEFL and I work hard in my lessons, and it hasn't been a problem. I think if you aren't confident you will be able to put in the effort, don't bother. I can't talk for the i-to-i TEFL course, but mine was REALLY hard work. I am fairly academic (but more in a math sense). That's just my 2 cents. I hope you have a good time whatever you decide to do!
