Im thinking about going to china to teach english. just wanted to speak to someone that is out there or someone who has been there before, whats the cost of living out there? can u live off what u earn? how much do u spend a week? thanks. M

Hi,
Yes i quite enjoyed it - like everything in life there were lows as well as highs but overall it was a good experience which i'm glad i did. I taught from age 5 up to age 15, in class sizes ranging from 3 to 120, and in both private and state schools. Cost of living was low, and i earnt enough to live comfortably in my city, but i'm not sure the wage would have been enough for a larger, more expensive city like Beijing or Shanghai. Hope that helps!
