About Me
Hello!
My name's Lucy and i'm currently doing the online TEFL course and getting very excited about jetting off to Thailand this October! I'm hoping to make teaching a full time job when I return to the UK and will fingers crossed be undertaking a PGCE/SCITT next Sep time to become a Primary School teacher so the Thailand package will give me the experience and confidence to get cracking with teaching and fingers crossed look great on my application!
I'm doing the experience with my boyfriend Bryn who is also very excited/apprehensive about the whole thing but it's great to be able to share this with him and have someone to help me with all the online modules, which at first I found extremely daunting! We're both really looking forward to meeting new people and experiencing a completely new culture and way of life and would love to hear from people who will be in Bangkok with us come Oct!

Thailand seems a very popular place to be jetting off to teach even if its not on the internship...I know of a couple more people who are going out there on their own to teach for 2 years! Do you know what school you will be in yet? Hopefully we will be on the same orientation so you get to know all of us too?!
I finally told work I was leaving...they are all really supportive and think its great I'm going off to Thailand ( I hope they are a little bit sad too!hehe) but I have sooo much left of this grammar course to do which I am finding a lot to handle along with work too...this whole grammar module is a nightmare! Hope you are getting on better with yours?

Hey Lucy, nice to hear from you. I'm going out there for Oct 23rd for the orientation week. I presume we must be on the same one?!?!
That's a good idea to do some travelling before you start. I think I'm going to be too skint after this summer to do that though unfortunately. I'm planning on doing some travelling after the 5 month placement however. I think I should be able to save enough money while I'm out there to do that. The completion bonus will come in very handy as well. Are you and your boyfriend thinking of doing some travelling after your placements? There are a few countries I'd like to see. Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, India etc.
The online course is going OK, I think I'm about half way through now. I'm sure I'm learning new stuff I should have learned when I was about 10 though. I'm getting more of a grip on it as I go along. Are you finding it any easier yet?
