Hello! My name is Louise, I'm 21 years old and I live in Ireland. For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to travel, see the world and experience different cultures. However, I'd like to spend my time doing something worthwhile as well. This got me thinking-how can I go globetrotting but not waste my time/money in the process? After doing some research online, I came across TEFL, from there I discovered i-to-i and have been hooked ever since! I'm extremely interested in doing the internship in China, but I have another year of university to go :( So for now I'm just getting myself too excited waaaaaaaaaaaay too early by doing reasearch on it and reading other people's blogs.
Aside from my TEFL dreams, I love travelling (shock horror!), swimming, going for walks, reading, listening to my iPod and good ole' nights out on the town. My favourite colour is red and my favourite season is winter :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Louise

Thats exciting you want to travel and come to China.
China is no way i what I expected, as I had no idea what to expect. Honestly though I love it, its a place that will blow your mind and everyday I've had here has made me love it more. If anything its not your boring same old thing kinda life and thats exactly what I was trying to find. THe internship is a great stepping stone. Looking back I probably wouldn't have taken that step so easily. The TTC crew are there to support you if you need it and they do the contract so theres no dodgy stuff going on also you get the 2 week oreintation in Beijing. Beijing was one of the best times of my life. You meet so many new friends as your all in the same boat and now I have connections in America. Brittian and Aussie. Aaaand you have that promise that you live/work with atleast one other intern, I dont think I could handle living by myself. The downside however is the money. I can live on my allowance but its much lower than every other teacher I've met over here. Also it costs quite alot of money to sign up. And when I'm here I can see there are so many job opportunities here, I've been offered a few already. So I guess this is just a stepping stone for me.Depends on the person really. If you think your confident enough alone it, go for it, if not the internship is there for that support. It was the best thing I have done really :)
Hope this helps! Let me know if you want to know anything else
Take care, Annah :)
Hello there Louise!
I'd just like to welcome you to Chalkboard :-)
Great to see you're hooked on the idea of TEFLing. I agree with what you said, it's a great way to explore the world whilst earning money!
The China internship looks brilliant doesn't it! I love flicking through the pictures to see what the interns are getting up to!
I don't know if I'd be brave enough to try the deep fried scorpion served by the street vendors though!
