I thought I would start a blog, been totally new to the TEFL world it might be advantageous to others in the future, plus it will help me chart my progress:
Well so far its day 3 and I have just began checkpoint 1 of my TEFL 140 hour course, so far I am finding it fairly straight forward using resources available via the website.
I still have one or two burning questions but these will wait until nearer the end of the course.
So far then I have learned about learning activities & classroom management, units that I think are vital to ensuring that when I get a job I won't be surprised by some of the things that happen in class, reading some of the hilarious stories on here so far does give a good grounding and prepares you for life as a teacher is really like.
I really cannot wait to get qualified and start the task of looking for jobs abroad, the intention is long term and carving out a career in this field, I think the challenge of teaching people something new is exciting and highly rewarding from a professional point of view.
Anyway here's to the rest of the course going smoothly
Cheers :)

Thanks for the tips people, very much appreciated :)
Since you're male you have a good chance in the Middle East. I've seen lots of job adds the past week or so in Saudi that require male teachers only.
Hey,
Good luck with your course! Definitely think blogging's the way forward - and if you run into any trouble just give Emma a shout - she's our in-house tutor and is always ready to help people: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/emmafoers/
Enjoy the site!
Hi Spiwak,
Asia, South America or Middle East would be ideal for me. Although having said that I aren't too picky.
Congrats on starting on the journey and good luck!! We've all been there and it's hard and yet so rewarding. Just don't be afraid to ask for help if you need. And starting your blog is a great idea and way to keep up with things. :)
Welcome to the TEFL world! Where are you wanting to teach?
