It is currently still in testing phase which could mean you find the odd bug!

I am a mum of one gorgeous son, who has emigrated to Australia last year. I have worked and travelled all over the world as a Chemical Engineer, specialising in the Electronic Sector. I did teach english as a foreign language in England to little Spanish Kiddies for two months and found it thoroughly enjoyable, however that was quite a number of years ago !!!!!! So I have just enrolled for the 140 hour combined and on line course, and cannot wait until I get started. When I hopefully successfully complete the course, well the sky is the limit, I would love to teach in so many different countries. and I in turn would be learning about other cultures, and lifestyles, and pick up basic words in other languages.
I guess I have come to a new start in my life, and that is why I am doing the course. My best friend is also a teacher and is TEFL accredited, we could travel together. I am looking forwaed to the challenge of the course and what it leads onto in the future.
Well new update as of end of February, getting through the course quite well, find I ned to be hard on my self at times to make time to sit and settle myself, and other times I find myself on a roll !!!
I successfully completed the 2day on site part of the course and enjoyed it very much, also completed the long tedious grammar section, and over the past two days two specialised modules were completed and pased at the first attempt which I was thrilled with.
I am still unsure what direction I am going to take but I guess destiny may take a role in this for me, and when the time is right to make a move I will know. God knows where I will end up.
I have made some lovely friends here through the chalkboard, and its good to chat to like minded people, and learn from their experiences.
Anyhow I will keep the head down and hope I keep going strong.
My son was in touch with me yesterday, he is doing well, and is so proud of his "mammy" doing this course, which will keep me motivated.
See my recently posted blog, yes I am pleased and delighted to say I have passed my 150 hr course and now can relax !!!!!!!!! and take time to decide what I want to do now that hopefully more choices will be open to me.
I wish everybody else still on the study path to keep going and by all means contact me if they wish so, It can be lonely at times at 11pm studying and trying to work something out.
Goodluck to everybody
Tina

Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountHi Alix, good to hear from you hope all is well, and I agree, where do these people come from and the upset they have caused to innocent people is incedible. anyhow keep well and take care Tina
I don't think she exists, I think she's a pretty photo and an idiot message... some people must think we're a right bunch of losers! there's some guy trying to advertise an website where you're somehow guaranteed to become a millionaire at the moment too... like yeah right mate... here's all my personal details, have fun with my ID why don't you? lol
with reference to this new scammer "Nancy" what a moron, this happened last year and these people even got our private email accounts and implored us for money etc etc. Anyhow we had thought it had all quietened down but obviously not, my question is how can a person who is not accepted by i to i with a course application get access to an acount and the chalkboard, its like bl dy face book. Anyway keep away from them, keep studying !!!! and like this wee genuine Irish Blonde Colleen keep going with the course dont let your mind drift away !!!!!!!!!
Have a good weekend and a vino or two if possible.

Hey Tina
Good to hear from you, I'm moving to Cologne on Thursday. Very excited although apprehensive, as it's a massive move. I won't have the internet for a few weeks, so as soon as it's back up I'll let you know. How are things with you? What you been up to?
Take care
Jo
Hiya, hope the course is going well! It's been hard finding time, so far only managed to get the first module done, but hopefully will get a little further through today. It's starting to dawn on me just how much there is to learn, not only the content of the course, but how to actually be a teacher! It is fascinating though, so quite enjoying everything I've learnt so far, hope it stays that way!
Hi! Best of luck with the course. It gets a bit tough at some points, but just stick with it! If you fail a checkpoint (which I did more than once) the tutor gives really helpful feedback and you get two more goes, so don't worry about them, just get stuck in!

Good morning everybody, Just a wee thanks to all who accepted me as a friend, I feel now that I have started on this new daunting but hopefully new path, having the support and friendship of you guys will help. I was actually typing in my sleep last night !!!!!! perhaps not a good sign, but having passed my first two modules and about to prepare to do checkpoint 1 (and dreading it !) after one half day, I feel I am on my way. Just one piece of advice to those starting like me, I suggest you do a wee handwritten point system as you go along the modules and a wee summation which I think will help when it comes to the checkpoints, because you have something to refer to, extra work I know but I think worthwhile. Anyhow cuppa time and chat soon Tina
i just got my course downloaded this morning, and so excited, though will probably be square eyed soon !!!!! Tina Monabreen, jump in and go for it xx Tina
im just thinking to start this course and very excited.
Thanks! Thats really nice to hear!
After several years in a job that brings me no joy, its a relief to find my way to a whole new world, which really couldn't be further removed from my average day currently!
I'm really looking forward to the class time, it'l be great to meet some people all in the same boat and share different ideas and calming any fears!
There seems to be a real good community of TEFL teachers out there, so I think we're in good company!
I'm sure we'll do fine!
