Hey, I took a Caxton fx pay as you go credit card - free to withdraw and means you can keep track of money. Apart from that, it's mainly a cash currency kind of place, I never paid by card there apart from online for flights. I also had my visa as a back up to take money out, but it charges you. I took out some RMB with me to pay for my visa extension and to get me by for the first few weeks. Hope that helps!

Yeah it would be great iof there was some of us on the same flight! I just booked my flight as they went up to 900! Just one way as I'm gonna go travel after China. Booked it with ebookers.ie, going with KLM from Dublin to Amsterdam on the 22nd, then onto Beijing!
I think I might just go ahead and book the flight with Ethiad before it goes up anymore, the chances of not getting a visa are apparently very very slim!

Same here! Getting a bit freaked out, haven't booked my flight yet, probably fly from Dublin on the 22nd. Still not applied for the visa till I get my invitation letter, where ever the hell that is!
