I just wanted to say hello and ask for some advice. I am seeking a position teaching Business English in Mexico start Aug/Sept of this year. I just completed the 140 hr course with 4 specialties. I have been self employed for over 20 years so have lots of business experience internationally. If you have any advice on where to search for such positions that would be great. I do see you receive many posts asking for advice so I figured I couldn't go wrong asking you as well.
On another note, I to write poetry and have been for years as well as plays and screenplays and two children's books. Perhaps something we can talk about when I get to Mexico and if we have a chance to meet.
Cheers,
Rick
Hi
it would be great if you help me exploring teaching jobs in mexico city. i have two years of teaching experience. i love to teach Computers, english and Mathematcs.
Thanks in advance for taking time out of your day to respond..
Hey!! I saw your post on Ailish's page. I am moving to Mexico... more specifically Cuernavaca in a few months and at that time I will have completed the 140 hours certificate. Is the site that you offered the best one to try and find jobs there? It seems that you have become a bit of a go to for this sort of stuff? I, unfortunately, do not come with any past teaching experience, but I do have a place to stay so getting a job isn't a rush situation I am just hoping that I will, indeed, be able to find work there. Any advice at this point would be greatly appreciated and of course your insite, as you are there, would be even better. Thanks again for taking time out of your day to respond :)
Heather.
Thank you!
Hola Jack!
Como estas? Lo siento, estoy aprendiendo Espanol!
I hope everything is going well for you in Mexico! We have someone on our Chalkboard looking for some advice about teaching in Mexico and I wondered if you had any advice for her? She wrote this post:

No pressure, just thought I'd drop you a note about it.
Hasta luego!

I have just arrived back from Costa Rica where the national team didn't do too great. We beat The Falkland Islands and Costa Rica but were beaten by Belize, Peru and Chile. If we had won the tournament, we'd have gone to Suriname next month! Ah well, you win some and you lose some. You can read more about how we did on the Mexican Cricket Association website: http://www.mexicocricketassociation.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=41&Itemid=171In
In terms of TEFL, all is going well. I have been offered a new and better paid job for next year. I'm studying for my teaching degree in Mexico and generally, I am having a great laugh! No complaints :)
Hi Jack,
I'm thinking of doing a TEFL course and getting a job in South America for a maximum of six months before travelling around the continent.
After you did your TEFL course was it easy to find a job? How long did it take you?
Also, which TEFL course did you do?
Really need some sound advice from someone before I make this big decision.
All the best,
Charlene
Hello Jack, your contact inforomation was given to me by Honor, she said that you would be a great person to check with concerning teaching English in Mexico.
I have an MA and will be completing TESOL course (140 hours) soon. I am looking at the cities of Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allente. any information or suggestion, counsel etc. that you care to share would be very much appreciated
Best to you, Thomas/mediator007
So do tell, how do you find Mexico and teaching there? I'm moving to Guaymas/San Carlos in 2 months. It's far south in Sonora, about an hour from the capital. But I am a little apprehensive about the amount of Spanish I speak and so on. I would really love to visit Mexico City!
Hi,
thanks for that link, I applied to join that forum to ask that very question but you found it for me! Shame, they talk about jobs in the Caribbean, thought it sounded too good to be true!
Cheers,
Alix
