Hello. My name is Linda. I'm 22 and live in Auckland, New Zealand!
For years I've always wanted to travel abroad and teach English but I kept putting it off. I've now completed the TEFL course (120 hours) and i've just secured a job :) Yusss
I expect to be in Korea by the end of Feb 2012 with two other friends, sooo exciting.
Any advice will be much appreciated. And would also love to meet others who are already there. Cheers :)

Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountHey! So we do have an opening. It would probably be around February. If you want to send me your CV, I'll pass it on to my boss. She will want to have a skype interview with you. If you want to put it in a private message you can ask me any questions about the job as well.
I wouldn't simply because it's a small town. I would rather be somewhere bigger. I'll ask them if there is a position still open tomorrow. If they say yes, the best way forward is probably to have you email a CV to me. They are possibly prefering a guy, but I can ask :)
Hey, that's no problem. Send me a private message with it in, I'll take a look. 2.2 isn't too much, and I would say that is probably to compensate for being in a small town. It is around the 2.4 range I start to really get suspicious. However, as for whether you want to take a job in Jecheon... I probably wouldn't. There are a lot of jobs out there (actually, if you have your documents ready I might be able to hook you up with my school, no recruiters involved!!). If you like country side, you will probably be okay. I have some friends who live in Ochang, which is very small, but is only about an hour from the nearest city, and they like it. I guess it depends a little on the other foreigners (there will be some). Maybe try looking on facebook to see if there are any groups set up to get a feel for the community. It is 100,000 or so people big, Jecheon, so it's not like it is a tiny village!
Hi there,
What sort of job are you going for in Korea? Are you having any luck? Do you know what city you'll be based in?
