In order to get your Z visa to China, do you need a CRB check or a Subject Access?
I have called the MET, went to the police station, they are all saying different things, so I'm not sure what is needed in the end.

I am working in China and have neither, things are different every where I know that much. I did have a CRB before but it goes with the job not with the person. I know they where about to change that but it is a little while ago now. Best is to check with the new Chinese employer. Just make sure you get a Z-visa to work legally. good luck
I think you might have been lucky, Briona, I think three to four weeks is the time limit they give themselves.
Hi there,
The only people who can request CRB checks are British-based employers. Individuals can't apply for CRB checks for themselves so you would need to get either a Subject Access Request from your local police or a Basic Disclosure through Disclosure Scotland (http://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/apply/individuals/), which is what I got to work in Vietnam. Ignore the questions and just click "Apply for a Basic Disclosure". It costs £25 and, if memory serves me correctly, the certificate is delivered in days.
