Has anyone ever been doing some conversational practice with a student when all of a sudden throw something pretty dodgy out of nowhere and your not quite sure what to do?
I had this the other day...a middle eastern student started yarning about Osama bin Laden, haha before this they'd been telling me about water and how you only get 100 and something litres to drink per family......Being a new and all, I wasn't really sure what to do but it was funny afterwards.

Haha I know and I haven't even left New Zealand yet. I'm just volunteering in Napier till I land a position in Europe.
That is a weird one, 'Tetris' hah, classic!
In terms of random stuff from students I had one in China who did a presentation on Tetris (which he'd very obviously downloaded off the internet), which went on and on non-sensically about the history of the game and ended with 'in conclusion, tetris is life', which is a rather strange philosophy to go on.
Sounds pretty crazy - where are you teaching?!
