Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountHi Layla, fellow intern here. I've just completed the Grammar Awareness part of the course and i almost cried with joy when i got the final excercise. now on to the 60 hour one which looks intense too. How are you getting on with yours?
Hey Layla,
Thanks for your message - you'll get your certificate right at the end of the internship programme - it's a printed one that's sent to you in the post and will say you've done a 120 hour course, plus that you've done 270 odd hours of teaching experience. It'll give a breakdown of your modules etc on the back of the certificate.
In terms of getting placed in China, you find out during your induction week where you're off to - people often ask why it can't be earlier, but unfortunately things change at the last minute quite a lot in China (which is why it's handy to have TTC there to help out!). We don't want you to get your hopes up and get all prepared to going to one place and then have to change suddenly.
Any other questions get in touch!
heya, haven't got an acceptance yet but really excited... if i ever get around to working through this tefl course!!!
Hi Layla, its nice to hear that i'm not the only one having trouble getting my head around some grammatical terms, its more intense than I can remember from school so I will be sharing a great sigh of relief when i've completed.
I don’t about you but I have chosen Beijing for my first choice of placement and then southern china as my second, though I hear the south is more of a warmer climate :) I am all for exploring new cultures and experiences that lie before us. So as long as I don’t get stuck in a very remote rural town with a population the size of Gilligan’s island I will go with the flow (with a smile) where have you put down?
I see you are going travelling after the placement has finished, I have the same idea and hope to possibly group along with others that are up for some travelling :) Any ideas which parts you’re going to?
hopefully when i'm done I can share a sigh
Hey,
Thanks for the add and welcome to Chalkboard! That's great you're going to be heading out on the China Internship - hope you're excited!
See you're a member of the China Internship group for August, but you might also want to have a chat with these guys who are out there at the minute to give you a taste of what to expect:
