Accredited

There isn’t actually an overall governing body for TEFL courses providers, which means any Tom, Dick or Harry can hand out TEFL certificates. So, to protect yourself from paying money on a TEFL certificate which isn’t accredited you should check that your chosen provider is accredited by an independent body, such as the ODLQC (Open and Distance Learning Quality Council).
