Hi! I am from Slovakia, currently studying Marketing Management at the university. I am considering taking a TEFL course and spend some years traveling. I have always dreamed of traveling to many places and this could be the way how to fulfill my dream :) I am a non-native speaker of English, so I would be glad if someone who is a non-native speaker as well contacted me, so we can exchange info. Thanks.

Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountI understand the wanting to skip the Asia part. I am. I have a job lined up in Ukraine, though I just heard about a possibility to American citizens in Kuwait with much better money and such. I will hate to leave the Slavic lands but I have people in Kuwait I know that are Slavs so I can manage. Hehehe. I'd definitely do 100 hours or more. And as for South America.. there are normally positions scattered everywhere, just not sure about the requirement of being native or not. I'll look around though for ya! I know lots of little places to look for jobs. I'll post some things if I find them in the morning!
Hi! Well, first of all I have to say that I have not taken a TEFL course yet. I am thinking about the 100-hour online course... And to answer your question, well, I would love to teach in South America, Argentina, Chile and so on... I know that getting a teaching job is easiest in Asia (and I considered China or Taiwan as the first step, just to gain some experience) but it would be great if I could skip "the Asia part" and go straight to South America.
Hi Kristina! I see that you're from Slovakia. Where are you wanting to teach? That will make the differences in whether being non-native will affect you or not.
