Well I was convinced when I did my TESOL certificate that I would be heading to Vietnam - a country I have visited many times and have come to love but now the time has come I chickened out and have opted to do a placement which includes assistance and support.
I was going to do the i-to-i china internship but have beeen offered a contract with smeone else which I have decided to accept. I will still be starting in China in August so I am hoping that those whom I've come to know through Chalkboard and are doing the internship will keep in touch.
To me it is irrelevant which company/school we are at - it will still be important to have the contact with other english speaking teachers. And who knows we may end up at the same/similar schools in the same area.
BUT I have not abandonded my dream.....I will definately be teaching in Vietnam at some stage but it will be a little later than I originally anticipated....

Hi Katie If your dream is to teach in Vietnam this other opportunity will open more doors to get you there. Having only travelled to Ho Chi Minh for a couple of Days I'm envious of the idea to teach and explore in such a beautiful country. We might see each other there! Who knows :)
Great to hear that you've found yourself a placement but obviously sad that you won't be on the internship - does that leave me as the oldest person in the group now then?! I'll definitely stay in touch and if you're working anywhere near where I'm based then it would be great to meet up.

Congratulations on getting a job in China - that's great news! Whereabouts are you going to be teaching? I'm sure you'll be able to get in touch with some of the other interns.
Are you going to be doing a TEFL course before you head out or are you just going to go for it?
