Sounds like everyone is getting stuck into their TEFL course - it appears that my qualifications are going to be recognised so no course for me!!!! BUT of course I'm happy to offer my assistance to all my friends......and I'll be cheering you on as you progress through the course.
Tried to read up on what everyone was up to and realised that there are TWO groups: Teach in China Internship and China Internship August 2010. Don't know if anyone else has got confused.
Jane - powering ahead by the sound of it. Well done with your first assignment - always the hardest.
Kate fielder - congratulations on receiving your acceptance. It seems to me that you will find plenty of support among this group and with an open mind and adventurous spirit you will love Asia.
Toots - Have you started your course yet??? Even though I did a different one I think its safe to say they all cover the same topics. Once you get started you'll be like Jane and start powering through it.!! Yes you are right, I ADORE SE Asia - initially thought I'd go to Vietnam but there is not the supports available that there are with postings in China. So here I am looking to go to a whole new country which has been on my to do list anyway!!!! All part of life's adventures.
It seems that there is a very large English/UK contingent so I hope you will all be accepting of a lonesome Aussie!!!! Actually I'm heading to the UK in April/May to see my son who is living there so maybe I'll try and pick up an accent while I'm there!!!!! Got to be cheaper than shopping for which I am renowned.

Yes there are a few groups I think about teaching in China but when i first found the China Internship group it seemed to just be all who are going in the February intake, so i created the china internship august 2010 just so i could find people who are going at the same time as me. The china internship is great to read through all the comments of people who are 6months ahead its a great indication of what is to come! I think the china internship is the official itoi group.
Thanks, and yes i agree its a very supportive atmosphere on chalkboard its great to have somewhere to meet others in the same situation.
