Okay, now I've completed my course I'm starting to panic about the next step.. actually getting a job. The thing that scares me the most are the phone interviews.
I hate talking on the phone, especially to someone I don't know. I know I have to do an interview on the phone to get a job so can you give me some tips? What sort of things do they ask?
I don't have Skype, will that be a problem for them?
Thanks! I want to just find a job now so I can sort the visas out.

Hey! I totally understand about not being comfortable talking on the phone; I am the say way! I get really tongue-tied and have this annoying nervous laughter that only comes out when no the phone with strangers and I always have a hard time hearing people on the phone! Haha!
I have had one phone interview so far(they called my home phone) and my advice would be to take some deep breaths before the phone call, have a cheat sheet with you(write down things you want to say, key words, answers to expected questions), smile while you talk and if you say something that doesn't come out right, just move on and don't let it affect what you say after.
Hopefully this helps and good luck! After that first interview you will feel way more comfortable and rock the next one, so even if you don't get that job, it is a win-win :)
You probably want to sign up for Skype, as most interviews are done this way, but you can always just wait until you're offered an interview and cross that bridge when you get to it.
In terms of what they ask, it's usually quite informal, but they just want to check that you're friendly and enthusiastic about teaching. There's a good article here which gives some ideas of what you might be asked: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/emmafoers/posts/997-7-tips-for-successful-tefl-job-interviews
Good luck!
