Hi Katie. The course teaches you about the English language as well as helping you to teach it. I'm pretty good on grammar so if you need any help give me a shout. I'm in the UK so our time zones might be a bit out of synch but I'll help where I can :)

Hi Katie...Im in Brisbane.....did the 140 hours 18 months ago and STILL have trouble with things like past participals etc, and how to explain the more technical parts of tenses. I know how to use them, but explaining them is a whole other ball game. Last year I worked as a Teacher's Assistant in a private ESL school in Brisbane.... (you can do that on a TEFL Certificate only by agreement wih the owner or principal, otherwise, without a degree, we can't teach legally in Oz)...and gleaned a wealth of knowledge. Lucky me, I was allowed to teach the elemntary and level 1 students. I liked that because it was something I could manage easily with my knowledge of what I had learned in TEFL. However, I never set the lessons as I was under the supervision of a more senior teacher and she set the programme, the daily lessons and she did the marking so all I had to do was teach it. I also had the opportunity to research a lot of resource material when I wasn't teaching and that was great fun.

Now when I need to understand something I google it.

Keep your chin up....its only a bump in the road....and I will say this, from one of the tutors at i-i to me when I was struggling.....Even when you go out to work in the classroom, don't stress if you don't think you have learned it well enough because when you are teaching it, you are also learning it.

Keep going lass...it really is worthwhile.

I just tried the prepositions exercise and only got 3/8 right.  I need help with those to!

i got stuck too then i googled abstract nouns and got more of a breakdown it helped me alot

I get proper and commom nouns.  I don't get abstract nouns or uncountable nouns or pro nouns.  Ha ha I just had to ask my friend's 15 year old to try and walk me thru it!!

are nouns your only issue?  do u clearly understand verbs and adjectives and adverbs, etc.??  just trying to decide how to approach this....  i'd love to help :)
