Teaching in China is by far the best thing I have done with my life. It's rewarding, energetic and just overall fun. But, teaching is not for everybody. I have known alot of people who have come over and in the first 2 weeks realised teaching is just not for them.
I'm pretty sure that i-to-i and TTC would not take your money unless you were confirmed to go on the internship. As far as I'm aware, you pay for it all up front and then if you don't pass your interview they will refund you the money for the internship but you will still have paid for the 120 hour TEFL course, if you know what I mean?
Hope this helps!
Katie
Hey, I was just wondering - what's it like teaching in China? How was the internship? My parents are consdering paying for the internship for me, if I buy the internship, does that actually mean I'm confirmed to go to China?
谢谢 ^-^
Hey Katie - when do you touch down? Or have you touched down? Are you still staying a the Happy Dragon Hoste?. Myself and JamesB are here, few others too although yet to hook up with everyone....
YEEEEEEEOOOOOW!
Awesome - Ya well I like to think that I am - but I know that once I am on that flight or once I touch the ground I will be kicking myself about something - but too late then. :) I just hope I do. I leave this Sunday so only a couple of more days for me! Good luck in this next week - It gets even better when you just say the day and not saying "next___". :) Have fun and I will see you the Sunday!
Hey - I think - a tentative time - to meet up at the zoo could be 8am - So that those coming early can have time getting stuff together and don't have to twiddle their thumbs until they meet up. We can all hang out in the area if those coming in the morning are delayed too. Let me know (on my wall or whatever) about what you think and if that is ok - those in the same hostels can come together or separate if you haven't met up yet.

Excited, nervous, feeling everything at the minute and seem so unorganised really need to get myself together!!! Will feel a lot more relaxed when I get my visa, can't believe how close it is now!!!!!
AAaahhh Visas. How it all went so wrong. I was lucky as someone attended on my behalf due to work commitments for me..
Happy Dragon Hostel looks cool, dunno where about's in Beijing it is located though.
My flight arrives 8.05pm on 21st August (Sat i think) but I've booked the Airport Garden Hotel Beijing as it was the same price as hostels and only 2km away from Airport so now trekking around late at night one I arrive.
No idea!! I arrived at the Ailesbury Road address and she said I had to use the other office for the visa application. If you make it to the RDS you're practically there. You pay €40 when you collect your passport but they'll only accept a bank draft issued by BOI or AIB or a postal order. Maybe they have a few hidden costs but she said €40 so that's all I'm giving!
