I live in France, Charente-Maritime with my husband and three cats. Since passing my online 40 hour TEFL course last January, I am pleased to report that I have been teaching since November and I love it. Challenging at times, but very rewarading.

Good to hear from you. I have just returned from Gemozac, the village where we live. Posted my petite annonce, in the vets, bakers, hardware store, mairie, SuperU - but - the Lycee where not interested at all - pas besoin! So onwards and upwards. Oh, also in the gymnase, where lots of children and parents go. I know that at school in France, well from my French friends, that they do not have much talking, lots or reading and writing, but not much speaking. Keep in touch with your progress and I will update you. Kathy
Hi Kathy,
Sounds like we're in a very similar boat! I'm in the Charente with my husband, two gites, large ginger cat and an 11 week old puppy. The latter is taking up a lot of time at the moment. She's lovely, but oh, it's hard work! It should be better after she's had her 2nd set of jabs and can go out ..... well, I hope so.
I've read elsewhere that le bon coin is a good site and really must place an ad. I've got details of a few other exchange or directory type sites as well as some online tutoring based sites. For the latter, key in 'soutien scolaire' and 'cours a domicile' to see an array of companies who are quite often looking for tutors in all sorts of subjects, including English. Acodomia seems to be one of the biggest and I've even known them advertise via Pole Emploi (sadly before I was qualified).
I'm planning to put a note up on the Teachers in France board on these sites once the young four legged one is settled for long enough.
Look forward to more news and updates from you.
TTFN Yvette
