Hey guys, Who's thinking of bringing a laptop with them to Thailand. I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to or not to bother and rely on the internet cafe's. Could be risky. ie. Theft. Any advice shared would be of help.

Wow that's crazy. I haven't booked my flight yet because I haven't recieved my visa yet. I had a problem when I sent out the paper work and apparently I sent it to the wrong consulate. I was told to send it to Chicago and I was suppose to send it to New York. So right now I am waiting for them to send me everything back so I can send it to New York. Once I get my visa I will book my flight. Now I just need to finish my course work!

The leaving date is getting so near now and I still have so much to sort out! It's hard to gage how much longer I'll need to finish the TEFL course, I've completed grammar and just started Checkpoint 1 of the 60hr online course..hope I have enough time!

Got my Visa confirmed today so I can now book flights from London. Who did you book with and was it very expensive at short notice? I'm thinking of going through STA so that the cost of changing the return flight is only £35...

Yes please do. I have sent out for my Visa and I have been officially accepted. I'm working on checkpoint 3, but I already finished the grammar section and a couple of others. This past week I have just been so busy I haven't really sat down and done any more work. I need to get myself motivated to finish this course work. I just want it to be done so I can figure out everything else and not having to worry about finishing anymore. I can't believe we are approaching a month until we are in Thailand!

I got accepted for the internship! How is your course work going?

yay congratulations!  I sent my visa off today to, I'm gonna book my flights this weekend!  I'm sorting my injections in the next week to.  I'm trying to do a bit of the course every day but its taking ages!  I'm working full time until the 1st october so i hope I can fit it all in!  There's so much to do I havn't really thought about the fact we're actually gonna be living in thailand, aahhh!  Hows it going for you?

I got my acceptance over the weekend took less than a week. I have to get pages added to my passport then do my visa application (which I can go directly to the office in NYC and have it done in 2 days). My visa appication asks for my flight info but I was told not to book a flight until we get the visa?!?!

Yea I'm kind of worried about the whole packing situation. I feel like I amd going to bring too much! I tried to find a blog about packing and the only one I found hadn't been answered. I would really like to talk to someone who has done the internship in Thailand and hear about their experiences, what they brought and any advice.
